Missions
We believe that living out of our faith means serving people in every corner of the world, from the heart of Lubbock to the ends of the earth. We are committed to becoming a missional church in which every member lives out their calling as a disciple of Christ. We have learned that “Missions” is not just one of the things we do at our church, but it should be evident in all that we do as a church. We are learning that in every moment, in every circumstance, we are called to serve, to teach, to love and to listen. This is the essence of what we believe Mission to be. Some are called to serve locally and some are called to go to the farthest reaches of the globe, but all are called to go. Because the calling is so great, we offer mission and ministry opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally as well.
Our vision is to connect people with opportunities to serve the Lord. We want to engage, encourage and empower people to recognize God’s call on their lives to serve Him in profound ways. The short version is, “Find a Need and Fill It, Find A Hurt and Heal It.”
The unique thing about mission is that everybody has different gifts, abilities and passions. No two people are going to want to serve in the same ways. Some people love the homeless and others love the businessman in his corner office. Both need Jesus and God has equipped different people to reach each of those groups. That’s why our mission opportunities are so varied and diverse.
We have 4 Elders, led by Baron Eliason who serve in oversight of Mission and Evangelism at Westminster. We have recently formed the Westminster Mission Team that will be working to make sure that every person in our church has opportunities to serve. They are involved in the lives and ministries of each of our missionaries as well. We always have opportunities to serve. The best way to learn about opportunities is to click on each of our partner missions and agencies and learn more about them.
